Workshop Oslo epea02

Workshop 1: Oslo, 8-9 March 2013

After reviewing hundreds of candidates and concluding the selection process at a meeting in Paris, the four curators met with the 12 chosen photographers in Oslo for the first epea 02 workshop.

The gathering coincided with opening of the epea 01 final exhibition at the Nobel Peace Center, where nearly all epea 01 participants were present. The veterans provided inspiration and encouragement for the newcomers who were embarking on their own works that were to be shown at the epea 02 exhibition in the very same venue a year later.

Each photographer presented a series of photographs to the others and to the curators, also providing insight into their photographic expression. Some had already started on their projects, concentrating on the theme “New Social”, while others showed earlier work they had done.

The photographers selected for epea 02 were shown to be artists with the ability to express themselves, both verbally and artistically.
