Marie Sjøvold (*1982) completed a three-year apprenticeship with the photographer Kjell Brustad in Oslo. In 2002 she received a scholarship for the exceptional work she had delivered for the photography exam. After having lived and worked in Berlin as a photographer for five years she participated in the workshop Nordic Master Class of Photojournalism organised by the Nordic Center of Journalism (NJC). She has received several Norwegian grants and has exhibited in Norway, Denmark, France, Germany and Indonesia. Her first book “Dust catches light” will be published in September 2011 and is supported by the Fritt Ord Foundation. Currently she lives and works in Norway.
